Charlene Carroll is originally from West Lorne, Ontario, and has completed a BA Honours degree in Theatre at York University. Through York’s Creative Ensemble class, Charlene explored the primary phases of devising original theatre, with a personal focus in movement-based theatre. In 2003 Charlene participated in Toronto's Fringe Theatre Festival with her show Nice Guy – which she co-wrote, performed, and choreographed. As part of Toronto’s ArtsWeek Festival in 2004, she organized a performance showcase. As the location’s Festival Director, she assisted in raising money for the children’s arts programs at the Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre. As an advocate for the use of theatre in child development, Charlene has worked as a camp counsellor, director, and choreographer with Original Kids Theatre Company in London, Ontario, and has taught as an assistant drama teacher at Elmdale Public School in St. Thomas, ON.
